The  $90,000 Mungrup Stud Sprint was won in 2009 by Electric General trained by Ascot based Neville Parnham for a syndicate headed by David Hayes one of Australia's top trainers.  Ridden by Mark Forder.

Excitement is mounting as the 2010 Grapes and Gallops gathers pace and is looking to be bigger and better than last year.

This event is unique in WA with racing and wine coming together  in the heart of the Mount Barker premium wine-growing region.

This race day offered all the excitement of the races with good food and GREAT WINE  from the local Mount Barker area. 

What more could you need for a great day out in January.

                                     Gates will open from noon on the day with a 9 race card                                          then a band will take you into the early evening with gates closing at 8pm

There will be prizes for the best dressed Fillie and colt

       Wine will be chilled ready to serve from local producers which mirror the pristine terror of the             Mount Barker Wine Region WA

Thoroughbred horses will be ready to run

All the excitement of country racing mixed with good food and GREAT LOCAL WINE will be there for you and your friends to soak up and enjoy.
